Philosophy Thank you for visiting my site. I hope you found it useful to see what we do. My design philosophy is really quite simple. I love interiors – I would love to see every building and space made beautiful – even the unused ones. From homes to shops, businesses to caravans, every interior should be well designed so that anyone can feel welcome and relaxed. I have over many years experience in the field of Interior Design and have worked on a very wide variety of projects both large and small. My special love is for turnkey design, but I also love the energy and dynamism that comes from working with a business to develop its brand and image. We designers often talk about “form and function”. These two principles are very true, but the best interiors can also be fun, quirky and unusual. You need to feel good about being there. Your clients need to feel good too! Some of my Key Design Principles.............. “Colour “ I love to use colour. Deep, rich and intense – I Love Colour! It should saturate the space. I work intensively on the lighting so that the colour really does the talking. And before you get too horrified at that thought – I often use white or pale pastels in my designs. I just use a lot of it! All of us can be braver with colour and it is also one of the cheapest and easiest transformations to make to any space. “Excessive and extravagant” These words have been used to describe the interiors I like to create. Even in a modern and restrained environment we can do a little more and make it a little bigger. Why should we do less for an environment that we have to use to live or for work? Why, I ask myself, can we not make the rug a little thicker, the lacquer a little glossier or the finish a little better. “Traditional vs Modern” I love both styles and I like to see ideas from other nations. Homes and businesses need to be moving with the times to reflect the people we are. To me the best interiors are those were we freely juxtapose the old and the new – called “eclectic design”. Thankfully the trends seem to be more towards a relaxed casualness in the way interiors are put together. “Bespoke” If we can’t find it – we have it made. I don’t believe in reinventing the wheel, so if there is a suitable product out there then we will use it. Otherwise I will find a way to make it for you. It does not have to cost a fortune, and it is a great feeling to have something that was specially made for you. “Eco-Aware” Responsible design in our modern world means protecting the environment wherever possible. I detest waste so we reuse things if we can. There are great innovations out there in practical ecologically friendly “De-constructed & Timeless” I love the stuff that we surround ourselves with. I love modern design especially Scandinavian things. Equally I like harmony and the classic. Also, I like deconstructed spaces where things do not match. I believe we should celebrate our heritage and the global traditions we now experience. I love to create interiors where all of our past meets our future, where our loves - no matter how diverse – meet. Interiors with this sense of juxtaposition are always the most beautiful and timeless. “Would it not be great to design...................... ?” Here are just a few of the design projects I would love to get my teeth into one day: - A beach shack on wheels – a type of touring house with max use of space and the feel of a real home. A modern gypsey caravan. - Attractive and workable social housing that allows for upward social mobility, is eco safe. - A fully furnished tree-house in a great location just to experience the ridiculous and the bizarre. - All waiting rooms in the whole world to be friendly, approachable and comfortable. (Healthcare especially!) - An exceptional 1/12th scale miniature house for the serious collector.
